This cover from 1959 captures a comical scene at the Opera House. The husband is sleeping soundly while the annoyed wife, dressed to the nines for the occasion, looks off in frustration. Obviously wealthy, with a private box, even the upper echelons of society can't pretend all the time.

This Brazilian edition of Grand Hotel (Grande Hotel) was found while exploring the multiple vintage bookstores in downtown São Paulo, Brazil. It was part of a treasure drove of old magazines, all of which have been out of print for over 70 years. It's very possible that this issue does not exist anywhere else in the world, and it was an honor to restore it and preserve it for ever.
